Potions Guide

Potions are the short-duration layer of Fish an Anime RNG power. They do not replace luck upgrades or fishing rods, but they turn an ordinary pond session into a rare-hunt window. Codes, Cosmic Boxes, Lucky Boxes, and the Store all drop potions — this page explains what each type is for and when popping one is a waste.

Redeem active codes before you plan a potion session. ECLIPSE and SACRIFICE currently bundle Luck Potions with 5,000 gems; ANGELIA and 1kLIKES are often listed with Golden Potion; EXODIA is listed with Double Power Potion. Exact stacks can change in the inventory tooltip.

Potion types

Luck Potions

Luck Potions temporarily raise pull quality. Use them when:

  • You have backpack space for new characters.
  • You just bought a stronger rod or Triple Hook (gem shop).
  • You can stay at a pond for the full duration — not while AFK in a menu.

Do not drink a Luck Potion, then Rebirth, then wander the plaza. Duration is the scarce resource.

Golden Potions

Golden Potions are the rarer hunt buff. Community lists tie them to milestone codes. Save them for:

  • The session after a rod upgrade (Gold through Astral, then Void).
  • Index gaps you still need for gem Index rewards (trading if a friend holds a duplicate).
  • Lemon Stand upgrades — you want a high-rarity unit to park on the stand (gem farming).

Double Power Potions

Double Power is about placed units and food, not just fishing RNG. Pair it with feeding your main carry (food leveling) so the leveled unit prints more cash into the next rebirth threshold.

2x Potion Time

The Gem Store lists a cheap 2x Potion Time pass (about 40 Robux on community tables). If you already pop potions every session, doubling duration is more honest value than 4x Luck. If you rarely fish actively, skip the pass and keep potions in inventory until a dedicated block.

Session recipe

  1. Finish the tutorial so Store and inventory work (getting started).
  2. Redeem codes and open boxes so potions actually appear.
  3. Buy or equip the best rod your Rebirth rank allows.
  4. Clear inventory clutter — sell or place fillers.
  5. Activate Luck first, then fish; add Golden only if you are hunting a specific rarity band.
  6. After the luck window, feed the new best unit under Double Power if you have food.
  7. Place the rarest catch on Lemon Stand if Rebirth 5 is done.
  8. Spend leftover cash, then Rebirth — potions do not survive a wasted reset of unspent food.

Common mistakes

  • Hoarding potions forever. They do not compound like rebirth multipliers. Use them.
  • Drinking during offline AFK. Offline cash is already capped near 50% of active income; potion time spent offline is mostly wasted.
  • Stacking blindly. Follow the in-game buff UI — overlapping luck effects may not add linearly.
  • Ignoring codes. Potion income from milestones is faster than farming boxes without luck.

Clans, friends, and potions

Friend-bonus cash and clans help you afford rods so potion sessions roll on a better luck floor. Potions themselves are personal — they do not share across the eight-player server.

Rarity and chances for expectations, fishing ponds for cast flow, scripts if you are tempted to automate fishing (account risk), and August 2026 updates when potion drops change in patch notes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When should I use a Luck Potion in Fish an Anime RNG?

During an active pond session with inventory space, ideally after a rod or Triple Hook upgrade — not while AFK in menus.

Do potions persist through Rebirth?

Unused potions in inventory typically stay. Active buffs should be used before you reset; food still wipes on Rebirth.

Which code gives Double Power Potion?

EXODIA is commonly listed with Double Power. Confirm the live reward text when you redeem.

Is 2x Potion Time worth Robux?

Yes if you already drink potions every play block. Skip it if potions sit unused in your bag.
